Wuling Sunshine is a mini van launched by SAIC GM Wuling. Since its launch, it has been highly favored by small and medium-sized enterprises, private owners, and some families due to its affordability and strong practicality.

1. Review of Development History

On November 18, 2002, SAIC GM Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd. was officially listed and established, jointly invested by Shanghai Automotive Group Co., Ltd., General Motors (China) Co., Ltd., and Liuzhou Wuling Automobile Co., Ltd. On the same day, Wuling Zhiguang went offline, embarking on its glorious journey in the automotive market.

On April 18, 2003, Wuling Sunshine was officially launched. It is the first domestically developed micro car manufacturer to successfully meet the design rules for frontal collision passenger protection, laying a solid foundation for its subsequent market development. Since then, Wuling Sunshine has undergone multiple facelifts and upgrades to continuously adapt to market demand and technological development. In November 2006, Wuling Sunshine was listed as a start-up company; In January 2010, the new Wuling Light was launched; In June 2013, the new Wuling Sunshine was launched again, including both practical and basic models; In May 2014, the Wuling Sunshine extended version was officially launched, with a body length increased to 4100mm, a wheelbase of 2750mm, and a maximum cargo space of approximately 4100 liters, further enhancing cargo capacity; In June 2015, Wuling Sunshine added two new 1.2L displacement models, which upgraded the engine and were equipped with ABS+EBD, improving safety and power performance. The dimensions of the 2013 Wuling Sunshine are 3791/1504/1821mm in length, width, and height, with a wheelbase of 2500mm. The transmission system is equipped with a 5-speed manual gearbox. This engine has the characteristics of smooth power output and economic practicality. When driving on urban roads, it has sufficient power and can easily handle daily shuttle and light cargo transportation. Equipped with a 9-inch brake vacuum booster, it effectively enhances braking force, allowing the vehicle to stop faster during emergency braking and reducing the risk of accidents. Optimizing the collision buffer zone at the front of the vehicle has improved the bending and torsion resistance of the frame by 10%, enhancing the safety of the vehicle structure. In addition, the car is equipped with a full-size cooling water tank and a large electronic fan, making the engine water temperature control more effective and reducing the possibility of high engine water temperature when consumers use it under harsh conditions, avoiding safety issues caused by engine failure. At the same time, some models are also equipped with safety features such as ABS anti lock braking system, EBD electronic brake force distribution system, and child seat interface (ISOFIX), providing basic safety guarantees for drivers and passengers.
